Head of Pharmacology

We are seeking a senior-level expert in Preclinical Pharmacology (ADME/PK), who will report to our client's Chief Scientific Officer as the Head of Preclinical Pharmacology. This is a fractional role (15-20 hours per week).

This role is crucial for driving the in vitro and in vivo evaluation of our therapeutic candidates, with a focus on understanding the pharmacokinetics, metabolism, bioavailability and optimal dosing regimen for novel compounds.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of ADME/PK principles in drug discovery, with extensive experience with DMPK testing in animal models and designing studies to help guide company strategy as it relates to the advancement of a drug discovery pipeline.

• Design and oversee execution of study plan (involving both internal team members and external CRO’s) to assess the ADME properties, pharmacokinetics, and bioavailability of pipeline drug candidates
• Develop ADME/PK strategy and study plan for IND package, and author key sections of IND submissions
• Develop detailed experimental protocols and oversee the review/approval process with IACUC as needed
• Work closely with interdisciplinary teams, including medicinal chemists and biologists, to integrate DMPK data into the broader drug discovery and development process.

• PhD with 10+ years in drug discovery and ADME/PK, ideally in an industry setting
• Extensive experience with design and conduct of DMPK testing in animal models
• Experience with IND submissions

• Experience with antibody or ADC drug discovery and development
• Experience with LC/MS-MS and other high-throughput analytical methods for the quantitative analysis of biological samples in complex matrices (e.g., plasma, tissue, cell lysates)
