Description:

EEG Technologists perform EEGs and assist Neurologists and Neuro Technologists with the performance of EMGs, clinic visits, and other clinical aspects of the department.
They assist Neuro Tech with NCVs and other clinical aspects of the department.
They demonstrate a working knowledge of neurology and electroencephalography.
They explain testing procedures for the EEG to the patient and their family.
They keep equipment clean and in proper working order.
They make appropriate adjustments to settings to obtain accurate results.
They obtain accurate and concise patient histories.
They prepare patients and equipment for requested examinations and perform EEGs according to laboratory standards, resulting in high-quality EEG exams.
They produce accurate and complete EEG reports with an emphasis on clinical observations.
They recognize, monitor, and eliminate artifacts and perform routine activation procedures such as hyperventilation.
They respond appropriately to patient emergencies and take appropriate precautions to prevent patient infections.
They understand the effects that medications can have on EEGs.
They verify MD orders by checking the written order and verifying patient .
