Overview
The Product Development Support Specialist provides essential administrative and operational support to ensure the successful execution of product development initiatives. This role involves handling samples, documentation, and technical information with precision, while coordinating effectively with cross-functional teams and vendors.
Position: Recruitment Advisor, Medical Device | Medix
Location: Northfield, IL
Pay: $20-24/HR
Shift: M-F, business hours (Remote on Mondays & Fridays)
Duration: 12 Weeks
Responsibilities- Measure garments and home products (bed/bath) against specifications.
- Support product construction reviews and document findings through notes and photos.
- Request, receive, track, and organize samples; maintain orderly sample storage.
- Organize samples before, during, and after testing.
- Operate spectrophotometer to capture fabric color data, record and organize results, and share findings.
- Prepare meeting agendas and minutes.
- Maintain sample shipment records, including incoming and outgoing tracking.
- Receive, file, and organize updated patterns in correct systems.
- Communicate with vendors to support ongoing development needs.
- Update tech packs with new images, illustrations, dimensions, construction details, packaging specifications, case quantities, and labeling information.
- Review tech packs for accuracy, consistency, formatting, completeness, and revision control.
- Coordinate approvals with product and quality teams; publish and distribute updated tech packs in a timely manner.
- Support project documentation by assisting with Product Change Notices (SOP-00171, SOP-00002).
- Manage development workflow through project management tools.
- Update project plans and keep stakeholders informed on status and changes.
- High School Diploma required, Bachelor of Science degree preferred (Biology, Chemistry, etc).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to process large volumes of technical information accurately.
- Resourceful and proactive in managing time-sensitive tasks.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
