Executive Search: C-Level Business Technology Leader
Our client, a highly respected, growth-oriented industrial distribution organization located in the northwest suburbs, is seeking a C-level business technology leader to join its Executive Leadership Team and report directly to the CEO.
This is not a traditional CIO role.
Our client is looking for a business-first executive who leverages technology as a force multiplier for growth, margin expansion, and operational discipline — not as a back-office infrastructure function.
The organization is currently at approximately $300M in revenue, with a clear growth mandate to reach $1B+ by 2035 and $2B+ by 2042.
Ideal Leader Qualifications- Thinks in revenue, margin, working capital, throughput, and risk
- Translates long-term strategy into scalable, durable operating systems
- Has successfully scaled complex, multi-location businesses
- Brings deep experience with ERP, WMS, logistics, inventory visibility, and pricing governance
- Builds a true single source of truth with executive-level dashboards
- Uses predictive analytics, not just historical reporting
- Owns cybersecurity and enterprise risk — communicated in business terms
- Possesses executive confidence to challenge the CEO and ELT constructively
- Operates with a lean, outcome-focused mindset
- Leads change thoughtfully, knowing adoption matters more than deployment
- Industry adjacency is preferred, including industrial distribution, manufacturing & distribution, logistics-heavy B2B, and asset-intensive environments, to bring fresh perspective and pattern recognition.
This is a strategic, ELT-seated role for a builder and scaler who views technology as a lever for enterprise advantage.
The search is targeted for completion by the end of Q2 2026 and will follow a disciplined, CEO-led evaluation process.
