The Opportunity

This is a key leadership role for a proven events executive who can combine strategic vision with operational discipline. The VP of Events will lead the overall strategy, execution, and growth of Becker’s live conferences, focusing on audience expansion, profitability, and new event launches in emerging healthcare segments. You will work closely with senior leadership to define and execute a roadmap for growing our event line, ensuring every conference delivers exceptional value for attendees, sponsors, and partners.

Some events are over three decades old and others are in concept form – being able to strengthen core flagship events, along with the ability to test, learn and pivot quickly within the new launches.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead strategy and execution for Becker’s conferences, overseeing planning, operations, programming, and the onsite experience.
• Build and execute a growth plan that expands event volume, audience reach, and financial performance.
• Partner with internal teams to drive data‑informed attendee along with sponsor acquisition, engagement, and retention campaigns.
• Identify and develop new event concepts and audience segments that align with market opportunity and Becker’s brand.
• Drive operational excellence across the event lifecycle from budgeting and staffing to logistics and customer communications and experience.
• Manage, mentor, and develop a high‑performing event operations team.
• Foster strong collaboration across sales, marketing, and editorial to align strategies and ensure integrated execution.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in event strategy, production, or marketing.
• Proven record of scaling event portfolios by launching, growing, or optimizing multi‑conference programs.
• Experience working in B2B, healthcare, live events or media environments preferred.
• Data‑driven mindset with the ability to use analytics to guide decisions and evaluate success.
• Skilled communicator and leader who thrives in fast‑moving, entrepreneurial environments.
• Strategic and hands‑on with the ability to set direction and execute to deliver strong results.
