Description
The Material Logistics Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring efficient flow of raw materials across multiple manufacturing plants. This position is responsible for monitoring inventory levels, coordinating deliveries, and supporting production through accurate material setup and documentation. The role requires strong organization, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners.
Roles and Responsibilities- Review and monitor material levels across all company plants to ensure adequate supply for production.
- Gather material samples from silos or railcars as required for testing or quality checks.
- Perform material set-up changes to support production requirements.
- Complete accurate data entry into various spreadsheets and tracking tools.
- Maintain daily communication with internal and external bulk delivery drivers.
- Create and update daily and weekly delivery plans, including adjustments for delays or changes.
- Receive, process, and scan freight paperwork for recordkeeping.
- Participate in daily material coordination meetings to align with plant operations.
- Provide support for the creation and processing of internal Bills of Lading (BOL).
- Perform other related duties as needed to support the materials and logistics function.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Teams (intermediate level).
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to plan material needs at least a week in advance and develop contingency plans.
- Effective communicator, both written and verbal.
- Ability to operate a forklift infrequently
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in materials, logistics, or supply chain roles within manufacturing is beneficial.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs infrequently.
- Ability to sit for long periods of time and perform data entry tasks.
- Comfortable working in various weather conditions and temperatures when gathering samples or assisting with deliveries.
