Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Base pay range is $28.00 - $32.00 per hour, based on experience
Hours:
Mon–Fri, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Overtime/Off-shift as required)
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring maximum operational efficiency of production equipment and facility infrastructure. This role focuses on the planning, organization, and execution of the preventative maintenance (PM) program for industrial machinery, including roll formers, power folders, slitters, and forklifts. As part of the Cornerstone Building Brands team, the technician ensures a safe, high-performing environment while utilizing digital tools to track and optimize maintenance workflows.
CORERESPONSIBILITIES
- Technical Troubleshooting: Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair complex mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems for optimal performance.
- Electrical Systems: Perform maintenance and repairs on electrical systems up to 480v
, including motors, wiring, and control circuits. - Safety Leadership: Adhere to and champion all safety processes, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and proper electrical safe work practices (NFPA 70E).
- Preventative Maintenance: Execute the branch PM program for all production and warehouse equipment to minimize unplanned downtime.
- Digital Integration (CMMS): Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to document work orders, track asset history, and manage parts inventory.
- Facilities Maintenance: Maintain building structures and grounds, including minor construction projects and safety inspections.
- Project Execution: Design, build, and install machine enhancements and facility improvements as needed.
- Communication: Provide timely updates to branch management and corporate maintenance teams regarding equipment status and vendor coordination.
- Experience: Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with significant hands‑on maintenance experience in a manufacturing or machine shop environment.
- Electrical Knowledge: Demonstrated experience working with 480v systems and a thorough understanding of electrical safety standards.
- Hydraulics: Proven experience repairing and maintaining industrial hydraulic systems.
- Computer Literacy: High proficiency in computer skills and the ability to effectively use CMMS software is required.
- PLC Experience (Bonus): Knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) for troubleshooting and logic adjustment is a significant advantage.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required;
Associate degree or technical certifications in a manufacturing field are highly preferred. - Soft Skills: A "can‑do" attitude, strong math skills, problem‑solving abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple high‑priority tasks independently.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs with or without assistance.
- Position requires frequent standing, climbing, lifting, pulling, pushing, and walking.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions (indoor/outdoor) and in a moderate to loud industrial shop environment.

The US pay range for this full‑time position is $28.00 per hour to $32.00 per hour + medical, dental, vision benefits starting day 1 + 401k and PTO. (Full‑time is defined as regularly working 30+ hours per week. Union programs may vary depending on the collective bargaining agreement.)
