Overview
The Procedural Nurse provides nursing services to patients in an assigned clinical unit, incorporating the nursing process—including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient needs—thus providing continuing healthcare to individuals and families.
QualificationsCertifications:
Licensed Registered Professional Nurse (RN) – Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR);
Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days – American Heart Association (AHA).
Education:
College Diploma in Nursing (Required)
- Coordinates and clarifies roles and care provided by multidisciplinary teams and community resources for specific patients or groups.
- Delivers physical care to patients following medical direction, including monitoring patient response and results during care, administering medications, and collecting and processing specimens accurately.
- Formulates a goal‑directed plan of care that is prioritized and based on determined patient problems and patient outcomes.
- Plans and validates activities related to the nursing care for specific patients.
- Provides health assessment directed toward maintaining wellness, establishing the need for nursing intervention, and evaluating responses to and outcomes of therapy.
- Assists in the training of students of all disciplines.
- Provides education and counseling to patients, families, and groups.
- Performs advanced nursing activities, which can include assisting with procedures using conscious sedation, placement of IVs, and administering sedation and other IV medications.
- Mixes chemotherapy and obtains prior authorizations.
- Coordinates social services.
- Teaches rheumatology infusions.
The compensation range for this position is $33.11 per hour – $53.88 per hour. This represents a good‑faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked, and compensation model.
