This Med Surg travel nurse job in Mattoon, Illinois, with Advantis Medical is a 13-week Travel Med Surg Registered Nurse (RN) contract at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center. This role pays $2,225 per week and follows a Nights shift with a 3x12 schedule. As the Med Surg registered nurse on this assignment, you'll prioritize care across a varied medical-surgical caseload, administer ordered medications and treatments, educate patients and families, and manage admissions, discharges, and safe care transitions.

• Manage a varied caseload of patients with acute and chronic medical-surgical conditions, including postoperative care when assigned
• Perform thorough assessments and monitor for changes in condition, escalating concerns promptly
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and treatments as ordered
• Coordinate admissions, discharges, and transfers with the interdisciplinary care team

• 2+ years of recent Med Surg experience.
• Must hold all required certifications and licenses as mandated by Illinois and national regulatory bodies.

Single-state license required. Illinois is not a Nurse Licensure Compact state, so you'll need a state-specific license. Our licensing team handles endorsement and renewals for you.

Assignments draw on inpatient and emergency work at the area's hospital, with more contracts a short drive around the county. Charleston sits just east toward Eastern Illinois University, while Effingham lies south on I-57 and Tuscola north.

Lake Mattoon edges the south side of town. Local rentals are inexpensive and sits near the depot or the lake. Charleston, the larger college town next door, holds added contracts and most of the nightlife a quick fifteen minutes east.
