Join our dynamic team as a Journeyman Lineman and become a vital part of maintaining and enhancing the electrical infrastructure that powers communities. In this energetic role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining high‑voltage and low‑voltage electrical systems, including overhead and underground power lines, transformers, and related utility equipment. Your expertise will ensure safe, reliable power delivery while adhering to strict safety procedures and industry standards.
This position offers an exciting opportunity to work outdoors on diverse power line construction projects, utilizing your skills in electrical diagnostics, climbing, bucket operation, and field service.
- Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of overhead and underground electrical distribution systems.
- Conduct electrical diagnostics using field testing equipment to identify faults and ensure system integrity.
- Operate bucket trucks and other specialized equipment safely to access elevated or hard‑to‑reach areas for power line work.
- Rigging and cabling of electrical components while following safety procedures for high‑voltage work.
- Read blueprints, electrical schematics, and construction drawings to accurately execute power line construction projects.
- Conduct utility locating, tree trimming, and outdoor work activities to maintain clear rights‑of‑way and prevent outages.
- Follow all safety protocols related to electrical safety procedures, PPE use, climbing techniques, NEC (National Electrical Code) standards, and high‑voltage electrical systems.
- Perform relay testing, electrical field testing, and troubleshooting on utility electrical systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with team members on construction site activities while maintaining compliance with safety regulations for high‑voltage work environments.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, inspections, repairs, and safety checks.
- Must have completed an approved apprenticeship.
- Proven experience working in the energy & utilities sector with a focus on power distribution systems.
- Demonstrated ability in electrical blueprint reading and interpreting technical diagrams related to utility systems.
- Hands‑on experience with electrical maintenance, troubleshooting high‑voltage systems, relay testing, cabling, and electrical diagnostics.
- Skilled in outdoor work environments including power line construction projects and utility site operations.
- Knowledge of NEC standards and safety procedures for high‑voltage work is essential.
- Experience operating bucket trucks or bucket operation equipment safely in outdoor settings.
- Ability to perform climbing tasks safely while adhering to all safety procedures for high‑voltage work.
- Prior experience in utility locating, tree trimming near power lines, or working on outdoor energy infrastructure is highly valued.
- Must hold a Class A CDL
