Overview
Principal Accountabilities:
Enter sales orders into the Eclipse system and pick customer order tickets; merchandise and stock products on displays and in self-service areas; select the correct products or assist customers in making product selections; emphasize product features based on customers’ needs and technical knowledge of product capabilities and limitations; answer customers’ questions about products, prices, availability, and credit terms.
- Efficient and effective loading and unloading of trucks.
- Inspects materials according to instructions and reports damaged goods.
- Process inbound materials to the warehouse. Compares quantities shown on packing slip or manifests with actual items received.
- Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to sequences such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
- Ensures materials are placed in the designated area within the warehouse.
- Stacks skids or pallets in designated areas. Cleans up and disposes scrap bracing, cardboard, and strapping and places in the proper container or assigned area.
- Maintains a safe and clean work environment by keeping racks, shelves, pallet area, workstations, and counter area neat; maintaining clean shipping supply area; complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- General housekeeping: sweeping, mopping, dusting, empty trash.
- Prepares truck for operation by inspecting general condition: check fluid levels and tire pressure; notify Branch Manager before obtaining or scheduling required repairs.
- Maintains truck operating efficiency by completing preventative maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; scheduling repairs.
- Loads delivery truck with product securely—avoid damages.
- Delivers items by identifying destinations; establishing route; operating the truck; unloading items; maintaining schedule.
- Uses cell phone to report on the progress of deliveries.
- Picks up returned items for the company.
- Verifies products delivered against packing slip and has customer sign receipt.
- Serves customers by understanding and resolving or forwarding complaints.
- Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests.
- Perform other duties as requested.
High School Diploma or its equivalent. Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (CDL Class B or C preferred).
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities- Critical thinker—using logic and reasoning to identify alternative solutions.
- Mathematical reasoning—ability to choose the correct method or formulas to solve the problem.
- Ability to learn Eclipse software.
- Must be very detail-oriented and focused for accuracy.
- Ability to perform assignments with minimal supervision and under tight deadlines.
- Must have strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Must maintain a patient and professional attitude while managing a busy workload.
Must be able to determine and prioritize workload.
