The Family Ministry Assistant provides administrative, organizational, and logistical support for the Preschool, Children's, and Student Ministries of Mauldin First Baptist Church. This role serves as a key support position by coordinating volunteers, managing ministry communications and databases, preparing curriculum and supplies, assisting with events, and providing excellent customer service to church members and guests.
Work Schedule Monday – Friday10:00 AM – 5:00 PM
This is an hourly position.
This position requires attendance at Mauldin First Baptist Church.

- Support the mission, vision, values, and ministries of Mauldin First Baptist Church.
- Secure supplies and assist in preparing for all Family Ministry events and Sunday morning ministry experiences.
- Communicate effectively with ministry volunteers regarding schedules, events, and ministry opportunities.
- Enter and maintain volunteer, member, and event participant information within ministry communication databases.
- Assist with registration and administrative support for camps, retreats, special events, and ministry activities.
- Handle payment collection and processing for ministry events, camps, and activities.
Prepare, distribute, and copy curriculum materials for Sunday School, Worship, and other Family Ministry programs on a weekly basis.
- Maintain organization of ministry supply rooms, storage areas, classrooms, and worship spaces used by Preschool, Children's, and Student Ministries.
- Assist ministry leaders in coordinating resources needed for weekly programming and special events.
- Monitor ministry inventory and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
- Greet members, guests, and visitors in a warm, friendly, and professional manner.
- Answer incoming phone calls and direct inquiries appropriately.
- Assist with general administrative tasks including filing, copying, data entry, and supply ordering.
- Distribute incoming mail and process deliveries for the church office.
- Provide administrative assistance to ministry staff as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by church leadership.
- Support a team-oriented ministry environment by contributing wherever assistance is needed.
- Demonstrates a clear Christian testimony and commitment to Christ.
- Supports the mission, beliefs, and values of Mauldin First Baptist Church.
- Exhibits spiritual maturity and a servant-hearted attitude.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
- Proficiency in common office software and church management systems.
- Ability to work effectively with staff, volunteers, parents, and church members.
- Ability to move throughout church facilities and ministry areas.
- Ability to lift and transport ministry supplies and materials as needed.
- Ability to sit, stand, and operate office equipment for extended periods.
Reports to the Family & Discipleship Pastor and works closely with Preschool, Children's, and Student Ministry leadership.
This position will also take direction from the Director of Operations in regard to Front Office duties.
