Mauldin First Baptist Church is seeking a full-time Next Generation Ministry Pastor to lead and develop ministries serving middle school, high school, and young adults (college through early adulthood).
This role provides vision, structure, and pastoral leadership for student and young adult discipleship. The successful candidate will build scalable ministry systems, develop volunteer leaders, and create clear pathways that integrate young people into the broader life and leadership of the church.
The position reports to the Family & Discipleship Pastor and collaborates with the broader staff team.
Primary Responsibilities Strategic Leadership- Develop and implement a comprehensive discipleship strategy for students and young adults
- Create clear pathways for spiritual growth, leadership development, and church integration
- Establish measurable ministry goals aligned with the church’s mission
- Provide pastoral leadership to students and their families
- Plan and oversee weekly gatherings, small groups, retreats, and mission experiences
- Recruit, train, and support volunteer leaders
- Ensure safe ministry practices, including background checks and policy compliance
- Partner with Children’s Ministry to ensure smooth transitions into student ministry
- Lead environments for biblical teaching, discipleship, and community
- Develop strategies for retaining graduates and engaging local college students
- Build a leadership pipeline that integrates young adults into broader church ministries
- Foster multi-generational connection within the church body
- Manage assigned budgets with strong stewardship
- Participate in annual planning, evaluation, and staff collaboration
- Maintain organized communication systems and ministry follow-up
- Support church-wide initiatives and events as needed
- Bachelor’s degree required; theological training preferred
- Demonstrated experience leading student, college, or young adult ministry
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to recruit and develop volunteer teams
- Alignment with the mission and statement of faith of Mauldin First Baptist Church
