Job Summary (2nd Shift)
A Maintenance Electrician is responsible for planning and installing electrical systems, performing and overseeing servicing, and managing tools and equipment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities- Inspect electrical equipment, wiring, fixtures and other components on a routine basis to ensure they remain functional, are up to code and identify hazards.
- Determine causes of malfunctions and develop maintenance or repair plans.
- Repair electrical systems, wiring, circuit breakers, equipment and other components to maintain full functioning capacity.
- Test systems with instruments such as voltmeters, oscilloscopes and ohmmeters to ensure safety and compatibility.
- Review blueprints to understand wiring placement and equipment operation to provide accurate service and repairs.
- Advise on equipment lifespan and recommend replacements when necessary.
- Maintain records of all maintenance and repair work, including supplies ordered and used.
- Schedule routine maintenance to reduce risk of larger issues and costs.
- Keep work areas orderly and clean.
- Must be willing and able to frequently stand, walk, push, pull, kneel, and reach.
- Able to lift 50 pounds with or without assistance.
- Demonstrates excellent performance in productivity, quality, safety, and attendance.
- Strong time management skills.
- Willing to learn from the ground up and work in a team environment.
- Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
- Outgoing personality and good customer service skills.
- Works well independently and within a team.
- Positive and strong work ethic.
- Flexible schedule with overtime and ability to respond to after‑hours calls for breakdowns.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3–5 years’ experience in electrical maintenance or related work.
- Relevant electrician certifications.
- Familiarity with the National Electrical Code.
