Are you an experienced Field Service Technician or Field Service Engineer who enjoys being hands‑on but wants to move away from excessive travel, long hours and relying on overtime to achieve a strong salary?

We’re recruiting for an excellent opportunity with a growing specialist equipment manufacturer based in Mauldin, South Carolina.

This position offers a guaranteed $70,000–$85,000 base salary with a maximum 40-hour working week. There is no overtime pay; however, the role has been structured around a maximum 40-hour week, offering considerably more predictability than many traditional Field Service positions.

The Role

You’ll install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair sophisticated laboratory and materials-testing equipment at customer sites, while providing a high level of technical support and customer service.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Installing and commissioning new equipment
  • Diagnosing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and software faults
  • Working with 208V/480V three-phase electrical systems
  • Preventive maintenance and calibration
  • Reading electrical schematics and hydraulic/pneumatic diagrams
  • Installing and configuring Windows-based instrument software
  • Training customers on equipment operation and maintenance
  • Producing technical service reports
  • Recommending repairs, upgrades and spare parts
  • Managing your own workload and customer schedule
What We’re Looking For

Ideally, you’ll have Field Service experience with laboratory equipment, scientific instruments, materials-testing equipment, CNC/machine tools, industrial machinery or similar electromechanical equipment.

Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills are important, together with the ability to work independently and professionally at customer sites.

PLC/HMI, metallography, hardness testing or materials-testing experience would be advantageous but isn’t essential.

What’s On Offer
  • $70,000–$85,000 guaranteed base salary
  • Maximum 40-hour working week
  • Predominantly local field service travel
  • Medical, dental and vision insurance
  • PTO and paid holidays
  • Company vehicle or vehicle allowance
  • Business travel expenses covered within company limits
  • International factory training during your first year
  • Excellent long-term career progression within a growing US operation

This is a particularly attractive opportunity for an experienced Service Engineer who still enjoys the technical and customer‑facing aspects of field service but wants better control over their working hours and significantly less time spent traveling.
