About ADUSA Transportation
ADUSA Transportation, the transportation arm of Ahold Delhaize USA, delivers fresh and nonperishable products to grocery retail stores and supports sustainability by returning recyclables to recycling centers.
Primary PurposeThe CDL Class A Driver plays a critical role in distribution and supply chain operations, ensuring safe, timely delivery of grocery products to company stores and secure backhaul transport to designated distribution centers in compliance with company standards and regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities- Safely operate a tractor‑trailer in accordance with company driving standards and DOT regulations.
- Assist with unloading deliveries at store locations as needed.
- Perform proper pre‑trip inspections as required by DOT Regulation 392.7.
- Maintain accurate and complete delivery, pickup, and DOT documentation at all times.
- Ensure proper count, condition, and verification of all loads – including backhauls, for‑hire freight, and relay (compound) shipments.
- Verify that all equipment is in proper working condition prior to operation.
- Recommend process or procedural improvements that enhance efficiency, productivity, or cost‑effectiveness within the transportation or distribution network.
- Ensure compliance with all transportation‑related standards in areas of safety, accuracy, and operational productivity.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
- Minimum of 3 years of tractor‑trailer experience.
- One year may be waived for graduates of an approved truck‑driving school with proof of completion.
- No moving violations within the past three years.
- Strong working knowledge of DOT and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
- Familiarity with proper and safe use of all equipment related to tractor‑trailer operations.
- Ability to reach, bend, stoop, and lift up to 70 lbs.
- Capable of meeting physical demands associated with store deliveries and freight handling.
- Previous experience operating a tractor‑trailer in a distribution or retail environment.
- Thorough knowledge of all DOT regulations.
- Demonstrated excellence in driving skills and safety practices.
- Strong communication skills – both verbal and written.
- Ability to meet all requirements outlined in the DOT Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations handbook, including passing a DOT physical and drug screening.
