About the Firm
Our client is a full‑service public accounting firm based in the Midwest, providing tax, accounting, and business consulting to a diverse client base including closely held businesses, agribusiness, real estate, construction, healthcare, nonprofits, and professional services. The firm employs about 80 professionals across six offices, focusing on underserved markets to build lasting client relationships.
Position SummaryAssurance Manager – Lead audit and assurance engagements for a portfolio of privately held and middle‑market clients, serving as key advisor while managing engagement teams, ensuring technical excellence, and contributing to practice growth.
Key Responsibilities- Client Service & Engagement Management – Lead engagements from planning through completion; serve as primary point of contact; identify and communicate accounting and operational risks; recommend improvements in internal controls and reporting; review financial statements and disclosures; manage budgets, timelines, and profitability.
- Team Leadership – Supervise, mentor, and develop senior associates and staff; review work papers; provide constructive feedback; facilitate technical training; assist with staffing and workload management.
- Technical Expertise – Apply and interpret U.S. GAAP, GAAS, and other professional standards; research and resolve complex accounting and auditing issues; ensure engagement quality and compliance with methodology and standards; stay current on emerging accounting developments.
- Business Development – Maintain strong client relationships; identify opportunities to expand service offerings; participate in networking and business development activities to support firm growth.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
- CPA license required or actively pursuing completion.
- 5+ years of progressive public accounting experience focused on audit and assurance.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and auditing standards.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and client service skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple engagements and competing deadlines.
