Join Our Team as a Project-Based Construction Manager! Take control of your schedule and choose the projects you want to work on—one at a time. This is a per-project position. Most projects run from 3 to 12 months, giving you the flexibility to stay engaged without long-term commitments. This role offers excellent earning potential and the opportunity to work on diverse, impactful projects.
Location: Remote, based out of one of our 7 regional office locations - Maumee, OH;
Indianapolis, IN;
Cincinnati, OH;
Atlanta, GA;
Kansas City, KS;
Minneapolis, MN; or Denver, CO.
As a Construction Manager, you’ll ensure the successful completion of turnkey projects, including large and mid-size multi-discipline installations. You’ll focus on project scope, schedule compliance, profitability, communication, documentation, and client interaction. Your expertise will help deliver outstanding results and foster strong client relationships, positioning MTI for repeat business.
Key Responsibilities- For projects assigned to the Construction Manager, be responsible for proper planning and implementation as defined in the Matrix Operations Manual and in our Quality Systems.
- Implement required procedures and action plans as detailed in the Matrix Operations Manual (MOM) and in the Quality Systems (QS) documents.
- Maintain project schedules and communicate schedule issues to the PM.
- Maintain on-site project budgets and communicate budget issues to the PM.
- Direct and coordinate all work related to assigned projects.
- Develop site-specific safety plans and implement them.
- Coordinate with client safety representatives and procedures.
- Maintain project communications through regular review meetings and day-to-day contact.
- Maintain project correspondence files.
- Verify completion of all required job-specific inspections and maintain files with inspection information.
- Ensure all contractual requirements are satisfied.
- Maintain client contact and coordinate the flow of information between the Client and MTI.
- Maintain records of purchased material and track receipt and location of material on site.
- Assist with issuing and administering subcontracts.
- Coordinate billing with MTI accounting for assigned projects.
- Work with Project Management to complete final job lessons learned and critiques at project completion.
- Maintain positive client relationships and develop potential work opportunities.
- Provide project managers with input on personnel assigned to projects regarding performance, attitude, potential, and/or problem areas as appropriate.
- Five or more years of experience as a Construction Manager, Engineer, or equivalent. Project Management experience a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field, preferred.
- Minimum of five years on-site construction/installation experience.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; stoop, kneel, crouch; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk, and hear.
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
