Mission of the Role – Part-Time Dental Hygienist
The Part-Time Dental Hygienist reports to the Practice Administrator and plays a key role in promoting patient health and confidence. The mission of this role is to deliver high-quality preventive care and patient education while ensuring every patient feels comfortable, informed, and valued.
This role requires the ability to clearly and compassionately explain treatment needs, provide exceptional clinical care, and support patients in achieving better oral and overall health—while contributing to a positive, efficient, and collaborative practice environment.
Key Performance Indicator- Hygiene Production
- Seat patients and provide exceptional comfort and overall patient experience
- Update health histories and obtain vital signs
- Deliver preventive hygiene care and periodontal therapy (including perio charting and STM treatments)
- Apply sealants and administer local anesthesia as appropriate
- Educate patients on recommended treatments and products to improve oral health
- Take dental X-rays
- Clean and set up treatment rooms and instruments as needed
- Schedule patients for recare appointments
- Assist the front desk in maintaining a full and productive hygiene schedule
- Stock and clean rooms; sterilize instruments
- Take impressions when required
- Complete thorough and accurate patient clinical notes
- Perform additional duties as needed to support practice operations
