The Epilepsy Center of Northwest OhioThe Epilepsy Center of Northwest Ohio is hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join our mission driven team. In this role, you aren’t just a caregiver, you are an empowering guide. You’ll help individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities live full, independent, and joyful lives at home and out in the community.
Your Daily Impact (Responsibilities)- Daily Living Support:
Assist with personal care tasks including ambulation, bathing, grooming, and toileting with the utmost dignity. - Community Enrichment:
Engage individuals in exciting social, recreational, and local community activities. - Home Comforts:
Help maintain an enriching home environment by preparing meals, cleaning, doing laundry, and handling general household tasks. - Safe Transits:
Transport individuals safely to their medical appointments, grocery trips, or social outings. - Goal Achievement:
Actively encourage personal growth, independence, and the achievement of individual life goals. - Professional Care:
Accurately document daily activities, incidents, and client progress, and communicate professionally with team members, families, and clients.
What You Need to Apply
- Education:
High school diploma or GED equivalent. - Age:
Must be 18 years of age or older. - Reliable transportation with clean driving History:
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (fewer than 6 points) and proof of active auto insurance. - Background:
Ability to successfully pass standard BCI/FBI background checks and required health screenings. - No prior experience in human services is not required—we provide comprehensive, fully paid training and orientation!
