Network Engineer / Consultant
Role and Responsibilities- Work as a Field Network Engineer with experience in a Managed Service Provider, architecting, monitoring, and maintaining client technology network, cloud and server infrastructure.
- Serve as a Technology Advisor, meeting frequently to discuss opportunities to improve the client’s environment with the latest technology, including Cyber Security and cloud‑based solutions to support customer goals.
- Support client environments through expert administration of Microsoft SQL databases, backup schema, log management, optimization, etc.
- Balance multiple customers’ requests, smaller projects, and necessary meetings while meeting customer satisfaction expectations.
- Flexibility for working after business hours and weekends required at times.
- Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience working with customer support in computer systems, servers and networking in a Managed Services or similar computer consulting field.
- Strong skills in Network configuration, maintenance, and vendor equipment (i.e., Sonic Wall, Meraki) firewalls, switches, and wireless access points;
Microsoft M365 products focusing on messaging and security solutions. Current certifications in any of these technologies will be highly considered. - Experience with Deltek Vision/Vantagepoint would be very helpful but not required.
- Other skills such as SAGE 300 & 100, Linux, SAN Storage, Mobile deployments, FACTS, Disaster Recovery would be a plus but not required.
- Willing to travel locally 1–2 days a week may be required; the ability to work and solve most technical issues through remote support is a must.
