Robot Technician-1st Shift

Overview

Robot Technician position based in Toledo, Ohio. This full-time role supports setup, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of robotic stamping machines to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production. The position offers competitive wages, growth opportunities, and a clean, safe work environment. Hours for this position are typically: 1st Shift, Monday – Friday, 6:00am – 2:00pm.

Toledo Tool & Die is adding Robot Technicians to support continued growth.

• Setup shakers & shaker trays
• Clean, lubricate, maintain, and adjust equipment using air hoses, cleaning fluids, and hand tools
• Conduct visual inspection of parts and measure/test completed metal work pieces to ensure specifications
• Read production schedules to determine the next job in rotation
• Correct problems by adjusting controls or stopping machines and opening holding devices
• Start, monitor, and adjust robotic production lines
• Modify computer-controlled robot movements
• Provide directions to other workers regarding machine setup and use
• Conduct trial runs and adjust equipment; use logic to evaluate solutions and approaches
• Compute and record settings for new work, applying knowledge of metal properties and shop mathematics
• Perform preventive or corrective maintenance on robotic systems or components
• Evaluate efficiency and reliability of industrial robotic systems and reprogram or calibrate to maximize quantity and quality
• Develop robotic path motions to maximize efficiency, safety, and quality
• Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE
• Take direction and coaching to improve performance
• Ensure environmental practices align with job scope, including waste disposal, spill reporting, permit compliance, and addressing improper practices
• Assume additional duties as assigned

• Education & Experience: Required – High School Diploma or GED. Prefer at least 1 year of progressive robotic experience (programming, adjustments, etc.). Skilled in welding, electrical, pneumatic, robotics with knowledge of the others. Prefer 2 years of experience operating hand and power tools.

  General computer literacy; experience with FANUC robots preferred; general knowledge of PLCs.

• Works primarily in a manufacturing facility with daily interaction with other departments
• Exposure to varying weather conditions, chemicals, dust, and fumes; may work in unair-conditioned areas
• Requires standing for long periods (8+ hours); exposure to electrical and mechanical hazards
• Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs; occasional outdoor work
• Frequent use of vision, hearing, and speech; dynamic movement including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and reaching
