As an Intern – Tech School, you will support Fire & Life Safety Inspectors with routine inspections, testing, service, and preventative maintenance of fire alarm, sprinkler, and suppression systems. This role is designed for individuals enrolled in or recently graduated from a technical school or trade program and provides hands‑on experience working alongside experienced technicians in real customer environments.
How you will do it- Assist with testing and inspection of fire alarm and life safety systems for new and existing customers
- Learn and follow established inspection and testing procedures under direct supervision
- Accurately document work performed using company‑provided tools and systems
- Adhere to all company safety policies, procedures, and training requirements
- Follow verbal and written instructions from lead technicians and supervisors
- Safely carry and move tools and equipment weighing up to 70 lbs
- Perform work in a variety of physical positions, including climbing ladders, scaffolding, and using lift equipment
- Support work on alternative shifts or weekends as needed to meet customer requirements
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times
Required Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a technical school program related to electrical, fire protection, or life safety systems
- Ability and willingness to perform physical labor in field environments
- Strong attention to detail and eagerness to learn new skills
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and smartphone applications
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to follow instructions and work well as part of a team
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid Driver’s License
- Commitment to working safely and professionally
- Prior hands‑on exposure to electrical, fire alarm, or life safety systems through coursework, labs, or internships
- Familiarity with basic hand tools and testing equipment
- Interest in pursuing NICET certification or a long‑term career in Fire & Life Safety

HIRINGHOURLY RANGE:
$20.00/hour (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, location and alignment with market data.) This position includes a competitive benefits package.
