Job Summary
Position involves installing, programming, troubleshooting, configuring, commissioning, and servicing fire alarm, access control, and CCTV systems at customer sites. The role focuses on network‑based fire alarm systems and requires coordination with central dispatch, completion of certifications, and timely documentation.
Key Responsibilities- Install, program, troubleshoot, configure, commission, and service fire alarm, access control, and CCTV systems.
- Repair and reprogram panels, replace or repair devices, resolve low‑voltage circuit issues and conduct system testing.
- Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems programs, schematics, and product manuals.
- Supervise and inspect installations to meet customer and contract specifications.
- Participate in after‑hours service program and communicate with central dispatch regarding work order status.
- Complete required certification courses and submit all task‑related documentation on time.
- Perform physical labor including carrying equipment up to 70lbs, working in ladders, scaffolds, crawl spaces, and high lifts up to 40ft.
- Work flexible hours, including weekends, and are available for overnight travel when required.
- Minimum four years documented experience in low‑voltage electrical systems (fire/life safety, access control, CCTV, security).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, submittals, and product manuals.
- Experience with hand tools, test equipment, multi‑meter, digital analyzer, and commissioning devices.
- Physical ability to carry 50‑70lbs and work in challenging positions (ladders, scaffolds, crawl spaces, up to 40ft).
- Availability for flexible hours, weekends, and overnight travel.
- Strong customer‑service orientation, teamwork, leadership, safety compliance, organizational skills, and rapid learning.
- Valid driver’s licence with a clean record.
- Ability to pass a pre‑employment background and drug test.
- Requirement to obtain and maintain licences as required by national, state, and local codes.
- Basic understanding of network concepts and architectures.
- Preferred:
Associate’s degree in electronics, network, computer science, or related field. - Preferred: NICET levelII or ability to obtain within the first year.
- Hourly wage range $26.05 – $35.67 based on education, experience, skills, and market data.
