Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Installation Technician
Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections, testing, service, and preventative maintenance on Electrical, Sprinkler, and Suppression life safety product lines and similar product lines.
- Work with low voltage wiring and associated devices for the operation of low voltage equipment.
- Complete Service Acknowledgements with proper coding via laptop computers or hard copy.
- Follow and maintain a highly structured inspection schedule.
- Input, retrieve and archive inspection documents via laptop computer or mobile device.
- Perform minor repairs and programming changes to systems being inspected.
- Provide technical training to less senior inspectors and trainees.
- Complete assigned inspections on time and perform other duties as assigned.
- 3–4 years of documented experience in low voltage electrical systems and Fire and/or Life Safety Systems.
- Demonstrated aptitude for troubleshooting systems.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Capacity for physical labor: carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50–70 lbs.; working in difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, high lift equipment up to 40 feet, within ducts, crawl spaces, and above ceilings.
- Availability for flexible hours, including weekends.
- Self‑starter able to work with supervision.
- Adherence to safety guidelines and procedures at all times.
- Strong organizational skills, a positive attitude, and ability to learn quickly.
- Valid driver’s license and compliant driving record.
- Ability to obtain and maintain required national, state, and local licenses.
- NICET certification preferred.
- Experience with hand tools and multi‑meter usage.
- Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, program schematics, and operational/product manuals.
Competitive starting pay ranging from $23.08 to $31.73 per hour, adjusted for education, experience, and market data.
