ABAP Developer
Must have technical/functional skills:
Strong expertise in ABAP on S/4
HANA, object-oriented ABAP, CDS views & AMDP, enhancements (BAdIs, user exits), SAP Fiori / OData / Gateway, REST/SOAP APIs, IDocs, RFCs, in-app extensibility (key user / developer), ABAP Cloud. Strong understanding of SAP Clean Core strategy, including avoidance of modifications in SAP standard, use of released APIs and extension points, adoption of side-by-side extensions (SAP BTP preferred). Good knowledge of Fiori/UI5.
Familiarity with SAP Activate methodology.
Roles and responsibilities:
Design and develop ABAP-based solutions in SAP S/4
HANA, adhering to Clean Core principles. Design, enhance, and review WRICEF objects including reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, workflows, and forms. Develop high-performance S/4
HANA code using ABAP on HANA, CDS views, AMDP, OData, and RAP. Oversee Fiori/UI5 development, launchpad configurations, and OData service enablement. Create ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP) applications and services. Implement side-by-side and in-app extensibility using SAP recommended frameworks. Avoid core modifications and leverage: BAdIs, enhancements, APIs, key user extensibility / developer extensibility. Own integration design for CPI, PI/PO, APIs, IDocs, web services, and RFC/BAPI frameworks.
Lead data migration activities using Migration Cockpit, BODS, and custom extraction/load programs. Collaborate with Basis and Security teams on transports, performance tuning, roles, and authorizations. Ensure technical quality through code reviews, ATC checks, testing support, debugging, and performance optimization. Guide onsite/offshore technical teams, mentor developers, and manage workload distribution. Support cutover and post-go-live stabilization, resolving technical issues and ensuring smooth hyper care.
Define development standards, coding guidelines, and clean-core extension strategies. Review Functional Specifications (FS) with Functional team before development begins. Create and review Technical Specifications (TS). Provide technical status, risks, and issues to the Project Manager/PMO. Ensure compliance with audit, security, and organizational development standards.
