Position Summary
This opportunity is hybrid, based in an Arkansas office or remotely from Texas. The Senior Financial Analyst supports FP&A activities at Summit Utilities, Inc. They analyze and project financial effects of management decisions and changes in the business environment for use by business leaders, senior management, and external agencies.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities- Strategic business partner to multiple functional groups, communicating and educating stakeholders on financial performance, including variance analysis and KPI reporting.
- Assist in developing functional KPI reports for departments across the company.
- Collaborate in creating the annual budget, quarterly forecasts, and 5‑year financial plan.
- Perform ad‑hoc financial analysis or reporting tasks to support the company’s financial performance.
- Provide required information to accounting and other FP&A team members to facilitate monthly financial close and ongoing reporting.
- Validate and reconcile financial data across systems to ensure accuracy and consistency of financial reports.
- Develop and implement continuous improvement measures in forecasting, budgeting, and KPI reporting.
- 5‑10 years of experience in finance or accounting.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting.
- Energy/Utility industry experience is a plus.
- Business partnering mentality with a high focus on customer service.
- High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and meticulous analytical capability.
- Strong competencies in forecasting and budgeting.
- Demonstrated success consulting with all levels of management, including senior management; ability to influence others without direct authority to earn credibility and trust.
- Strong initiative and project management skills, maintaining deadlines and a steady approach.
- Ability to conduct and interpret quantitative and qualitative analysis and communicate complex financial concepts in an understandable manner to all levels of the organization.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Understanding of GAAP, FERC accounting, and general ledger concepts.
- Experience working with large datasets.
- Experience with SAP, Oracle PBCS, Power BI, or Hyperion is a plus.
