Summary of

Job Duties:

* This position will hire either an APRN or PA
* The Primary Care Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) provides comprehensive, adult patient-centered care across the lifespan, including health promotion, disease prevention, acute and chronic disease management, and coordination of care. Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, the APRN evaluates, diagnoses, and treats patients while promoting evidence-based practice, patient education, and continuity of care to improve individual and population health outcomes.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

APRN:

* Master's Degree in Nursing - Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)

* Three (3) years of nursing experience. ( Two years of RN experience. One year of Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) experience.)

* Licensed Registered Nurse in Arkansas

* APRN License

* Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) certification.

PA:

* Master's Degree - Physician Assistant

* 1 year of PA experience in Adult-Gerontology Primary Care or Family Medicine

* PA license

Preferred Qualifications:

APRN:

* DNP

* 4 years of nursing experience ( Two years of Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) experience.)

* Prescriptive authority and a DEA license must be obtained after hire.

* Primary Care clinic experience.

PA:

* 4 years of PA experience in a Gerontology and/or Family Practice Experience

* Prescriptive authority and a DEA license must be obtained after hire.

* Primary Care clinic experience.

Additional Information:

Responsibilities:

* Extend the patient care and administrative services of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences physicians.

* Provide comprehensive health assessments, determine diagnoses, implement treatment plans, prescribe medical treatments, and manage health issues for patients in collaboration with the designated physician(s).
