The Health Information Supervisor position oversees the staff and workload of the Health Information Department.

• Supervise the HIM staff, which includes managing workloads, resolving issues, training/educating, holding meetings, monitoring schedules/payroll, and performance evaluations.
• Manage the workflows of the department and assist other departments and providers with HIM related items/issues.
• Fill in for staff as needed.
• Compile records for audits or extra projects.
• Monitor and report on provider documentation deficiencies.
• Attend seminars, and conduct reading/research when staff, providers, or nurses have questions regarding laws and records.
• Compose letters to patients, attorneys, and other facilities.
• Perform other duties as requested.

• Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Health Information Management preferred, or 5+ years of related work experience required.
• Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail required.

• Intermediate proficiency with computers is required.
• Knowledge of electronic health records and medical terminology.
• Knowledge of State Privacy laws, HIPAA federal regulations, and compliance within a healthcare system.
• Self-starter with excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills.
