Job Summary:
The Speech Language Pathologist assesses, diagnoses, and treats speech, language, and swallowing disorders to improve patients' communication and swallowing safety. This role involves delivering direct therapy, documenting progress, and collaborating with healthcare teams to provide comprehensive patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate patients' speech, language, and swallowing functions to develop personalized treatment plans.
- Implement therapy techniques to address communication and swallowing disorders.
- Document initial assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries thoroughly.
- Educate healthcare staff on evaluation results, treatment strategies, and best practices based on current research.
- Prepare and facilitate in-service training sessions and educational materials for team members.
- Coordinate with healthcare providers to deliver patient-centered care and support patient navigation through the facility.
Qualifications:
- Hold a valid and current Speech Language Pathologist license or certification.
- Possess a degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Demonstrate experience in assessing and treating speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Exhibit strong communication, documentation, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
