Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care to assess and treat speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Complete patient documentation, including initial evaluations, plans of care, progress notes, and discharge reports.
  • Contact insurance providers regarding benefits and authorization as needed.
  • Prepare for evaluation and treatment sessions; maintain treatment spaces and equipment.
  • Educate and collaborate with interdisciplinary staff (nurses, physicians, dietitians, and food service workers) on results and recommendations; deliver in-service trainings.
  • Support patients and families navigating the care environment; follow up with reminder calls; ensure rooms are clean after sessions; perform other duties as requested.
Requirements
  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Wisconsin state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist or eligibility for licensure.
  • Professional certification in Speech-Language Pathology (e.g., CCC-SLP) or eligibility.
  • Experience in acute care or hospital-based settings preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary clinical environment; proficient in documentation and EHR usage.
