Operate with a high level of independence to set up, launch, and run multiple production work centers while collaborating with team members to meet production requirements. Develop setup procedures, create training and instructional materials, and support the training of other employees. Regularly rotate between different machines and departments throughout the facility.
Qualifications / ExperienceAssociate degree from a technical or accredited college, or a high school diploma with at least five years of relevant hands‑on experience, or an equivalent mix of education and experience. Must be able to read, understand, and interpret technical documents and instructions.
Core Responsibilities- Create, revise, and maintain setup documentation and work instructions
- Develop, adjust, and improve CNC programs to ensure efficient production that meets design specifications
- Review routings and technical drawings for correctness and communicate any required revisions or improvements to engineering and supervision
- Determine and input machining parameters such as speeds, feeds, coolant application, cutting depth, and angles
- Set up, start, and operate a wide range of equipment, including CNC machines, machine tools, lead cutters, drill presses, arbor and hydraulic presses, glue stations, winding machines, ovens, lathes, and various hand and power tools used in assembly or rework
- Conduct first‑piece and first‑article inspections when required
- Identify and request consumable tooling necessary for production jobs
- Apply lean manufacturing methods to stabilize and improve processes that fall outside control limits
- Work with maintenance personnel to troubleshoot equipment issues and verify proper machine operation after repairs
- Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, lean team members, and other associates to solve production and process issues
- Demonstrate strong teamwork and leadership skills while fostering continuous improvement and a positive workplace culture
- Complete all required documentation accurately and within established timelines
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on equipment according to established schedules
- Support workplace safety initiatives and maintain a clean, organized, and orderly work area
