Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse in Medical Surgical provides comprehensive, professional nursing care to adult patients, focusing on recovery and stabilization. They assess patient conditions, develop and implement individualized care plans, and ensure accurate documentation and communication across the care team.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate patient conditions continuously and adjust care plans accordingly to meet individual needs.
- Administer medications, including IV therapy, ensuring accuracy and safety with minimal errors.
- Educate patients and their families on treatment, discharge planning, and health management strategies.
- Respond promptly to emergency situations and provide life-saving interventions following established protocols.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and ensure optimal outcomes.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment, adhering to infection control and safety procedures.
- Two-year nursing degree required; BSN preferred.
- Current Wisconsin Registered Nursing license.
- BLS certification required, or obtained within 1 month of hire.
- ACLS certification required or obtained within 6 months of hire.
- Demonstrates excellent clinical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work effectively in fast-paced settings.
