Job title:
Certified Nursing Assistant - Infusion & Wound Center
Schedule:
Full-time, 80 hours per pay period;
Monday-Friday, 7:45am-4:15pm
Weekend rotation:
No weekends
Holiday rotation:
Paid Time Off for Holidays
An Infusion Center CNA provides direct patient care and clinical support to nurses in an outpatient infusion setting. This role focuses on patient comfort, monitoring, preparation for treatments, and assisting with daily operations of the infusion center while ensuring a safe and compassionate care environment.
Position Responsibilities- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as mobility, toileting, and positioning during infusion treatments.
- Monitor patients for changes in condition and promptly report concerns to the Registered Nurse (RN).
- Provide comfort measures and emotional support to patients receiving infusions.
- Clean and prepare patient areas before and after treatments.
- Assist nurses with patient intake and rooming.
- Obtain patient height, weight, and other baseline measurements.
- Assist with specimen collection when required (depending on facility policy).
- Stock and maintain infusion supplies and equipment.
- Help maintain efficient patient flow in the infusion center.
- Ensure proper disposal of biohazard materials.
- Transport patients within the facility when needed.
- Accurately obtain and document vital signs, intake information, and patient observations in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Report and record any patient concerns or symptoms observed during visits.
- Follow all HIPAA, infection control, and safety protocols.
- Maintain a clean and safe treatment environment.
- Participate in quality improvement and safety initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Current Wisconsin Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtain within 1 month of hire.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to work with patients receiving IV therapies and long-duration treatments.
- Intermediate computer skills.
- Strong patient service and communication skills.
