Registered Nurse - Maternal and Newborn Care Schedule

Night Shift - 6 (12) hour shifts within a pay period, every 3rd weekend 7pm-7:30am

The Registered Nurse position provides quality nursing care for maternal and newborn patients. This role involves cooperation with other professional staff to deliver services reflecting the caring philosophy of the institution.

• Complete initial nursing histories, assess patients' conditions, and develop individual plans of care.
• Triage patient care based on presenting or expressed symptoms.
• Accurately administer medications and assists with various medical emergencies.
• Manage labor progression, induction of labor, and cervical ripening.
• Perform and accurately interpret fetal heart monitoring.
• Manage pregnancy‑related concerns such as hypertension and diabetes.
• Assess newborn conditions and recognize situations requiring a higher level of care.
• Perform neonatal resuscitation within scope of practice and certification.
• Monitor newborns for adverse events such as hypoglycemia, hypothermia, and jaundice.
• Promote patient education and involve families in the care of newborns.
• Communicate effectively with the patient care team and alert providers about patient status changes.

• Two‑year degree in nursing required (four‑year degree preferred).
• Must hold and maintain a Wisconsin Registered Nursing license.
• AHA BLS certification within 1 month of hire.
• NRP certification within 6 months of hire.
• STABLE certification within 1 year of hire.
• Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification within 1 year of hire.
• Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail required.
