Job Description:
POSITION SUMMARY The Registered Nurse position assists with day-to-day nursing activities. This is an important role that requires accuracy, attention to detail, and a passion for providing exceptional healthcare. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIESAssessment of Hemodialysis patients; leading to development, implementation and evaluation of plan of care.
Administers, monitors and documents therapeutic interventions and regimens.
Effectively manages rapidly changing patient stations, including delegating care to other department members. Assist providers with patient-related needs before, during, and after hemodialysis care; making sure their needs have been met in a timely, efficient, and caring manor.
Triage and set up extra care at other facilities for the patients.
Obtain lab specimens, perform lab competencies and quality controls on a regular basis.
Educates patients and/or family members regarding disease process, individual care needs, safety issues, etc. Attend daily huddles, monthly meetings and participates in daily clinical decision making.
Perform other duties as requested by Supervisor, Director and/or Providers.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Required qualifications to effectively perform job. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered.
Two-year degree in nursing required. Four-year degree in nursing preferred.
Must hold and maintain Wisconsin Registered Nursing license.
BLS certification required.
Minimum of 9 months clinical nursing experience, and 3 months of specialized experience providing clinical dialysis care to patients in either chronic or acute setting (can be completed during orientation).Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail required.
