Job TitleLabor and Delivery Registered Nurse (OB/GYN) – Night Shift

Key Responsibilities- Complete initial nursing histories, assess patient conditions, and develop individualized plans of care for maternal and newborn patients
- Triage patient care based on presenting or expressed symptoms and identify appropriate level of care
- Assess labor progression and manage induction of labor and cervical ripening
- Respond competently to obstetric emergencies including prolapsed cord, breech delivery, postpartum hemorrhage, precipitous delivery, uterine rupture, meconium management, abruptio placenta, and placenta previa
- Perform and accurately interpret fetal heart monitoring; manage pregnancy-related concerns such as hypertension and diabetes
- Assess newborn condition, perform neonatal resuscitation within scope of practice, recognize and manage neonatal sepsis, and monitor for adverse events such as hypoglycemia, hypothermia, and jaundice; cross-train to Med Surg/EICU as needed
- Minimum two-year degree in nursing required
- Active Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license required
- AHA BLS required within 1 month of hire
- NRP required within 6 months of hire
- ALSO, STABLE, and Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certifications required within 1 year of hire
- Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail required
- Four-year degree in nursing preferred
- Prior experience in Labor and Delivery or OB/GYN nursing
- Experience cross-training in Med Surg or critical care settings
