American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a part-time night shift position requiring a WI or compact RN license and cross-training in Med Surg/EICU care.
Details- Labor & Delivery unit providing care for maternal and newborn patients
- Cross-trains to care for Med Surg/EICU patients as needed
- Part-time schedule of 2x 12-hour night shifts per week,
- Weekend rotation required
- Uses Meditech EMR
- 13-week contract
- Active WI or compact RN license required
- Two-year nursing degree required, four-year degree preferred
- AHA BLS required within 1 month of hire
- NRP certification required within 6 months of hire
- ALSO certification required within 1 year of hire
- STABLE certification required within 1 year of hire
- Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification required within 1 year of hire
- Less than 1 year of experience required
- Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail required
- Completes nursing histories, patient assessments, and individualized care plans for L&D patients
- Manages labor induction, cervical ripening, and labor progression assessment
- Handles medical emergencies including prolapsed cord, breech delivery, postpartum hemorrhage, precipitous delivery, uterine rupture, meconium management, abruptio placenta, and placenta previa
- Performs and interprets fetal heart monitoring
- Manages pregnancy-related conditions such as hypertension and diabetes
- Assesses newborn condition and performs neonatal resuscitation within scope of practice
- Recognizes and manages neonatal sepsis and monitors for adverse neonatal events
- Promotes patient education and family involvement in newborn care
- Communicates patient status changes promptly with the care team
- Holiday coverage required
