Responsibilities
- Provide support to the Material Planners in the establishment and maintenance of planning parameters, including supplier lead time, minimum order quantities, and safety stock. Monitor settings to ensure effectiveness.
- Extract data from operating systems for inventory‑ and procurement‑focused analysis.
- Analyze data, make recommendations, and facilitate the resolution of issues and implementation of process improvements.
- Prepare, analyze, and publish department metrics.
- Assist in the implementation of any materials management systems.
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Operations or similar.
- Minimum two years’ experience in an analytical role, in supply chain or operations. Experience in a distribution environment a plus.
- Thorough understanding of Materials Management operational concepts: scheduling, procurement, and inventory control.
- Advanced-level user of Excel, minimum of intermediate level in Access.
- Certification such as CPIM or CSCP strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with ISO
9000 and continuous improvement initiatives such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing and JIT desirable.
- Demonstrate attention to detail, be able to prioritize multiple tasks, easily adapt to changing situations, and work well under pressure with little direct supervision.
- Have strong interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work in teams with members from various disciplines.
- Possess strong analytical and problem‑solving ability. Able to successfully manage large and complex data sets.
