Senior Network Engineer - Plex

Position Summary

In support of our ongoing growth, we are seeking a Sr. Network Engineer for the Plex Cloud Operations department. The role focuses on maintaining the network infrastructure of Plex’s private and public cloud environments, leveraging automation and infrastructure-as-code to secure and scale our products.

• Design, implement, and operate networking infrastructure across both private data centers and public cloud (primarily Azure), including routing, firewalling, WAN connectivity, and overlay networking.
• Provide network and remote connectivity hardware/software support for internal and external customers.
• Design, manage, and troubleshoot highly available ISP circuits, multi‑homed BGP architectures, datacenter interconnect (DCI), and SD‑WAN connectivity across multiple regions.
• Perform root‑cause investigations and contribute to process/procedure documentation.
• Maintain and expand NGFW rule base to ensure least‑privilege access principles across public and private firewall zones.
• Conduct structured cabling, physical infrastructure lifecycle replacements, and network/security monitoring and alerting.
• Deploy public cloud (primarily Azure) and private cloud networks using infrastructure‑as‑code with Git‑Ops tooling.
• Collaborate with security teams to maintain data and access security.
• Develop, improve, and maintain network and system monitoring solutions.
• Work cross‑functionally within the operations and engineering organization.
• Participate in an on‑call rotation and scheduled monthly maintenance windows (second Sunday of each month), supporting 3–4 windows per year.

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years of relevant work experience.
• Legal authorization to work in the US (no visa sponsorship).
• Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
• Ability to lift 40 lbs, stand on a ladder for extended periods, and enter tight spaces.

• 5+ years enterprise infrastructure experience.
• Experience with infrastructure‑as‑code tools such as Terraform and/or Ansible.
• Experience with Git‑based workflows (Git Hub Enterprise, Azure Dev Ops, or similar).
• Experience with BGP, MP‑BGP (EVPN), overlay/underlay architectures, vendor‑neutral technology (Arista preferred).
• Foundational understanding of prompt engineering.
• Hands‑on knowledge of Azure, Terraform, Ansible, Elastic, Cisco NX‑OS, Arista EOS, BGP, EVPN/VXLAN, packet‑capture technologies, Netflow/IPFIX, Wireshark, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Jira, Confluence, Windows Server, Ubuntu, VMware, SNMP, LibreNMS.
