Travel Stepdown RN
Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Stepdown RN for a 13‑week travel assignment in Mayfield Heights, Ohio.
Responsibilities- Provide care to patients transitioning from intensive care to medical‑surgical or general inpatient units.
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and other telemetry data to detect abnormalities and respond appropriately.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, with a focus on cardiac care.
- Prepare equipment and assist physician during cardiac‑related procedures and examinations.
- Maintain awareness of comfort and safety needs of telemetry patients.
- Observe patients, record significant conditions and reactions, and notify supervisory personnel of changes in patient’s cardiac status.
- Respond to life‑saving situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocols specific to cardiac emergencies.
- Document nursing history and physical assessment for assigned telemetry patients.
- Initiate patient education plans according to individualized needs, focusing on cardiac health, risk factors, and lifestyle modifications.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care for telemetry patients.
- Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards.
- One year of recent experience as a Stepdown RN.
- Current valid RN license in compliance with state regulations.
- Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN) certification.
- Strong English reading, writing, and communication skills.
- Remain in a stationary position, move about, and move equipment weighing 50–100 pounds; push, pull, and bend as required.
- Grasp, perform fine manipulation, and assist with procedures and/or use department equipment.
- Cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure.
- Work both under close supervision occasionally and independently.
- Possess visual acuity and ability to communicate effectively.
