Youngblood Excavating and Contracting is seeking an experienced
Civil Construction Project Managerto oversee heavy civil and site development projects from preconstruction through completion. The right candidate will be a results-driven leader with experience managing project schedules, budgets, field operations, and client relationships.
The ideal candidate has a strong background incivil construction, site development, underground utilities, concrete, bridge and earthwork projects, along with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and deliver projects safely, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:Project Management
- Own and manage project cost, schedule, scope, and expectations for assigned projects.
- Lead project kickoff meetings, subcontract negotiations, and procurement efforts.
- Manage:
- RFIs (Requests for Information)
- Submittals
- Change Orders
- Progress Billings
- Monitor project costs, productivity, and cash flow while implementing recovery plans when necessary.
- Develop and execute project schedules to ensure timely completion.
- Coordinate project closeout activities and documentation.
- Conduct on-site visits to oversee:
- Project layout
- Material scheduling
- Equipment and tool requirements
- Construction progress
- Coordinate field installations and project closeouts.
- Resolve construction challenges and support field teams throughout project execution.
- Collaborate closely with company leadership and field operations teams.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with:
- Owners
- Owner representatives
- Architects
- Engineers
- Trade contractors
- Vendors
- Participate in project meetings and industry-related activities.
- Serve as the primary point of communication for project-related matters.
- Ensure all work complies with company standards, contract requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
- Maintain project quality, safety, and documentation requirements.
- Coordinate QA/QC activities and ensure proper project closeout procedures are followed.
- Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management preferred.
- Equivalent industry experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Proven experience managing civil construction projects, including:
- Site development
- Earthwork and grading
- Underground utilities
- Pre-engineered Metal Building Erection
- Concrete work
- Bridge work
- Commercial or industrial infrastructure projects
- Strong understanding of project financials, scheduling, and contract administration.
- Project budgeting and cost control
- Construction scheduling and planning
- Change order management
- Contract administration
- Construction documentation and reporting
- Microsoft Office Suite and construction management software proficiency
- Strong leadership and decision-making abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Highly organized with exceptional time management abilities
- Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
Technology and computer proficiency required
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
