About the role

Join our Kooragang Island site as a Senior Reliability Engineer - Instrumentation & Control, where you'll play a key role in improving the performance, safety, and reliability of critical manufacturing systems.

This is a hands-on, site-based role working across instrumentation, control systems, and functional safety. You'll collaborate with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to solve complex problems and drive continuous improvement in a high-performing plant environment.

What you will be doing

* Support, optimisation and modernisation of control and shutdown systems (DCS/SIS) and plant instrumentation;

* Investigate and resolve complex reliability and system issues;

* Partner with maintenance and operations to improve plant performance;

* Drive alarm management, system improvements and reliability initiatives;

* Contribute to safety outcomes through investigations, hazard reviews, and management of the site's Instrumented Functional Safety Management System;

* Support projects, system upgrades, contractor coordination, and develop toward becoming the site Responsible Engineer for Instrumented Functional Safety.

What you will bring

* Engineering background (e.g. instrumentation, electrical, mechatronics, chemical, process or similar).

Candidates with Functional Safety Engineer certification are highly preferred;

* Experience with industrial control systems (DCS/PLC/SCADA) and/or safety systems;

* Strong Instrumented Functional Safety experience in continuous operations plants;

* Exposure to process or manufacturing environments, with a practical, hands-on problem-solving approach;

* Ability to work collaboratively across different teams on site.
