Registered Nurse (RN), Emergency Room – PRN

As a Registered Nurse (RN) on the Emergency Room team at Jackson Purchase Medical Center, you will be responsible for delivering high‑quality, patient‑centered care to critically ill patients in a 14‑bed unit. Your role emphasizes teamwork, effective communication, and the use of advanced clinical skills to manage acute presentations.

• Perform plan‑of‑care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments.
• Document patient care and update charts accurately.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition to the care team, physicians, patients, and families.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living such as personal hygiene, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharge planning, referrals, and spiritual or psychosocial support.
• Advocate for the physical and emotional well‑being of patients.
• Work with families to improve patient outcomes and help them cope with illness.

• Associate's degree in nursing required;
  Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 1–2 years of clinical experience strongly preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months of hire.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 6 months of hire.
• Handle With Care (HWC) certification within 6 months of hire.
• Registered Nurse licensed to work in the State of Kentucky (or eligible for a provisional license for up to 6 months).
• Commitment to maintaining licensure and certifications as outlined.
