The Med/Surg unit at Jackson Purchase Medical Center is a 64‑bed unit that thrives on teamwork and effective communication. It provides optimal medical attention and support to patients and aims to be a place where providers want to practice and team members want to work.

• Under the direction of an RN or Med‑Surge Charge Nurse, contribute to patient assessment by collecting data for analysis.
• Perform plan of care interventions, including specimen collection and wound care.
• May administer medication within scope of practice.
• Document patient care provided.
• Assist the RN with the development of the plan of care.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living, such as personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Monitor, document, and communicate patient status and reactions to interventions with RN, physician, patient, and families.
• Advocate for the physical and emotional well‑being of the patient.

• Graduate of an LPN program.
• Current LPN license in the state of Kentucky.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
