Fusion Medical Staffing – Nursing seeks a Travel Labor and Delivery RN for a 13‑week assignment in Mayfield, Kentucky.

- One year of recent experience as a Labor and Delivery RN
- Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
- AWHONN Fetal Monitoring Certification
- STABLE and ACLS Certifications (AHA/ARC)
- Other certifications and licenses may be required
- Communicate labor and delivery procedures to patients and families
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to obstetric nursing techniques
- Prepare equipment and assist physicians during labor and delivery
- Provide immediate postpartum care and stabilize mother and newborn
- Educate patients and families on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care
- Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and other team members
- Respond to obstetric emergencies using evidence‑based protocols
- Document patient care, assessments, and interventions
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives
- Perform fetal monitoring and interpret results
- Assist in cesarean sections and other obstetric procedures
- Comply with all regulatory standards, hospital policies, state laws, and federal guidelines
- Perform other duties as assigned within scope of labor and delivery nursing
- Critical thinking, service excellence, and strong interpersonal communication skills
- Fluent in English – reading, writing, and verbal
- Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions, proficiency in PC skills
- Physical abilities – stay stationary, move equipment (50–100 lbs), push, pull, bend, etc.
- Interpersonal skills – work effectively with diverse personnel and maintain a positive attitude
- Technical/motor skills – fine manipulation, push/pull, assist with procedures, use equipment
- Mental requirements – cope with public contact, meet deadlines under pressure, handle irregular schedules, maintain concentration and detail
