Position Overview

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring that all restaurant equipment, systems, and facilities are in excellent working condition. This includes conducting regular maintenance, troubleshooting issues, performing repairs, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. The Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the restaurant operates smoothly, minimizing downtime, and maintaining a safe and functional work environment for staff and customers.

This position requires strong technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities

Preventative Maintenance:

Conduct regular preventive maintenance checks on kitchen equipment, HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, and other critical infrastructure.
Create and maintain a schedule for routine inspections and maintenance of restaurant equipment and facilities.
Perform necessary tasks such as lubricating machinery, cleaning filters, and calibrating temperature controls to extend the lifespan of equipment and reduce downtime.
Monitor the condition of equipment and report any potential issues before they become major problems.

Repairs & Troubleshooting:

Quickly diagnose and repair malfunctioning kitchen equipment, appliances, lighting, plumbing, and other systems to ensure minimal disruption to restaurant operations.
Troubleshoot electrical, plumbing, and mechanical issues as they arise, using specialized tools and knowledge of systems.
Respond promptly to emergency repair requests and manage downtime effectively.
Coordinate with vendors or service professionals when specialized repairs are needed, ensuring they are completed in a timely manner.

Facility Maintenance:

Ensure the restaurant’s physical environment is well-maintained, including repairing or replacing broken fixtures, doors, windows, flooring, and other structural components.
Perform light carpentry, painting, and general repairs to keep the facility in top condition.
Ensure all areas, including the kitchen, dining room, restrooms, and exterior, are clean, safe, and well‑maintained.

Safety Compliance:

Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to safety, health, and sanitation.
Conduct regular safety inspections and address potential hazards to maintain a safe working environment for staff and customers.
