Qualifications
  • Degree in Elementary or Early Childhood Education
  • Fluency in spoken and written Spanish
  • MUST HAVE MA DESE License in Elementary Education – or willingness to complete the process
  • Experience working with elementary age students preferred

Expectations and Responsibilities
  • Develop, align and implement grade curriculum in Spanish
  • Provide classroom instruction in Spanish
  • Focus on establishing a foundation and providing direct instruction for students to develop fluency and competency in Spanish.
  • Plan lessons and provide high quality instruction in all curricular areas, consistent with all district curriculum initiatives.
  • Actively participate in the selection of curricular materials aligned with school and district curriculum expectations. Complete appropriate ordering forms to secure materials.
  • Actively participate in all grade level, school and district collaborations, teams, and professional development.
  • Administer, score and analyze grade level, school and district assessments as the basis for informed instructional decisions.
  • Provide ongoing communication with parents regarding student progress and program information through regular conferences, email, parent orientation programs and as needed consultations.
  • Provide information, resources, and guidance to families on curriculum understanding and ways to support their children in an immersion program.
  • Maintain all student and school documentation in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Actively participate in the school community, assisting with translation and communication as needed.
  • Complete all other responsibilities, duties, and tasks assigned by the principal.
Required

Skills and Abilities
  • Thorough understanding of pedagogy and best practices of education.
  • Desire to teach children and ability to adapt to their developmental status.
  • Ability to design lessons that teach curriculum in an engaging manner, applying various methods such as lectures, discussions, demonstrations, and individual or collaborative projects and research.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills to manage and control the classroom.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with professionalism and tact in high-stress situations.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Creative analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with Google Suite and Google Classroom or related software.
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer or standing to teach.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to traverse classroom and adjust tone and height, by bending or leaning, in order to teach each child.
Position Type and Salary

Position Type: Full-time

Salary: $49,839 to $84,536 Per Year

Job Requirements
  • MUST hold DESE License in Pre-K 1 Grade 2 Elementary Education – Native or fluent Spanish speaker preferred.
  • At least 1 year(s) of relevant experience preferred.
  • Master degree preferred.
  • Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
