A Maintenance Engineer performs preventive and corrective maintenance of equipment, systems and structures throughout the facility.

Director of Facilities

Non‑exempt

• Two years institutional/commercial maintenance experience, Required
• Basic knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, electrical and/or electronic systems, Required

• High School diploma or equivalent, Required

• Basic knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, electrical and/or electronic systems, Required

• Current unrestricted Kentucky driver’s license
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
• Demonstrates proficiency in verbal and written communication
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively and professionally with individuals at all levels; both internal and external

• Installs, tests, maintains, operates and repairs machinery, equipment, and systems as scheduled or needed
• Performs major and minor maintenance work
• Performs utility and structural repairs as needed, alone or in collaboration with internal/external tradespersons
• Assists with inspection, testing, and maintenance of all fire risers, sprinklers, extinguishers, fire doors and other fire/safety‑related equipment and systems
• Performs preventative maintenance procedures on equipment, building systems, and utility systems as assigned
• Moves items within/between locations and from/to storage
• Assembles and relocates furniture
• Performs other job duties as assigned
