Meadowview Regional Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health, invites an MS Registered Nurse (RN) Charge Nurse to join our Med/Surg unit. The role involves coordinating total nursing care for acutely ill adult patients, providing patient and family teaching, advocating for patients, and working collaboratively with ancillary and non‑nursing departments.

• Supervise and mentor nursing and support staff during the assigned shift.
• Determine staffing levels and assignments based on availability, abilities, census, acuity, and workflow.
• Provide direct patient care as needed and may take patient assignments to meet staffing needs.
• Float between staff to assist with problem‑solving.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of patient care and identify issues affecting outcomes.
• Respond to patient care complaints and manage them through established channels.
• Perform role‑specific duties including entering orders, performing admissions/discharges, and coordinating transfers.
• Ensure staff have necessary equipment and supplies to provide safe, quality care.
• Integrate evidence‑based practices into operations and protocols.
• Create and foster an environment that encourages professional growth.
• Participate in performance improvement and continuing education.
• Provide quality patient care; work flexible shifts/units as needed.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Current Kentucky or compact state RN license.
• Associate's degree from an accredited nursing school (Bachelor's degree preferred).
• Certifications:
  
  Basic Life Support (BLS) required within one month of hire;
  Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months;
  Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 6 months.
